St Patrick's Day: It was here that the first St Patrick’s Day was celebrated in 1737, and today green-clad families gather to enjoy the high-spirited celebrations, particularly the 1pm Parade that includes floats, pipe bands, music and dancing.

Go Skating on the Frog Pond: Surrounded by a cavern of skyscrapers dotting the sky and holiday lights adorning leafless trees, skating at night in the Boston Common’s Frog Pond is one of those unique winter time experiences.

Boston Harborfest: There are over 200 events, including re-enactments, concerts, historic walking tours, and parties, climaxing with the 4th of July orchestra and fireworks display over the Charles River. Main events include the Opening Ceremony, the Chowderfest and Children’s Day. The festival is thought to be the largest celebration of patriotism in the country.

Museum of Fine Arts: The MFA houses amazing works of European masters, as well as American heritage and contemporary art. (Free general admission).

New England Seacoast Day Tour: Explore the charming and rugged New England seacoast north of Boston, including a shopping stop in Kennebunkport.

Long Wharf: Water taxis are available to the Charlestown Navy Yard, East Boston and Quincy.
